Peter Schmeichel
Peter Schmeichel has earned himself the reputation of being one of the best, if not the best goalkeepers in the History of Football.
Throughout his career, Schmeichel has known nothing but success. He's rarely gone a season without lifting silverware. He's won virtually every major trophy going, with only the World Cup eluding him.
Apart from his world-famous goal-stopping abilities, he's also gotten himself a bit of a reputation as a goalscorer. During his early career, he often took penalties and free-kicks. However, he's scored two goals in open play, once in the UEFA cup and the other in the Premiership. He could have made it a hat-trick too. In 1997 he scored a fantastic goal from a scissor kick, only to be ruled offside by the referee, possibly the first time a goalkeeper has been ruled offside in a professional game!
